The revision of ISO 14001 has now been made available as a Draft International Standard (DIS), meaning you can submit your views and suggestions and have your say.

Like all ISO standards, ISO 14001 is reviewed every five years to ensure it is relevant and up-to-date. By moving to the DIS stage, the new draft version is now open to public comment as well as purchase, giving you not only a preview of the changes, but allowing you to prepare for when the final standard is published at the end of 2015.

The main changes in the new draft are a greater focus on risk management and a shift towards improving environmental performance rather than the management system itself. More information about the changes and the process can be found on the ISO 14001 revision page.

If you are interested in contributing to the draft, please contact the ISO member in your country to find out more about how you can get involved.
