IEC/ISO Coding Guidelines ed. 2.1 [PDF]
The IEC/ISO Coding Guidelines are the guidelines for coding ISO and IEC documents in NISO STS and apply to all new XML content produced (including legacy content). This document applies to NISO STS 1.2 (2022).


IEC/ISO Coding Guidelines ed. 2.1 supersede the previous edition IEC/ISO Coding Guidelines ed. 1.11 as of 2025-03-25.

Please refer to the list of changes between editions and should you need to convert new XML from ed 2.1 back to ed 1.11, you have the option of using this XSLT transformation script.
